Landscape Maintenance Technician

Summary

S & D Landscapes LLC is an innovative and strategically growing company focused on caring for clients, coworkers, and community.  Within our portfolio of services, we have a landscape maintenance division that details client landscapes on a weekly/scheduled basis.  This work includes mowing, string trimming, edging, blowing, weeding, dead heading, pruning, mulching, and leaf removal. Additionally, we monitor client properties for landscape concerns including watering and plant healthcare.  The landscape maintenance is our weekly update on the health and welfare of our client’s landscapes.

Job Duties & Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift repeatedly 80 lbs
  • Must possess a valid and clean Vermont driver’s license with no DUI history.
  • Must obtain and maintain a clean DOT physical card
  • Must present oneself in a safe and respectful manner.  The public eye is on you and responsibility and respectfulness of the client, the community, your coworkers (including yourself), and the environment are paramount.
  • Must learn and exhibit competency with walk-behind mower(s), string trimmer, backpack blower, edger, as well as general weeding and beginning pruning technique–both hand pruning and shearing.  Work will include weekly landscape maintenance tasks–mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, gardening as well as spring and fall clean-up tasks at the beginning and end of the season respectively.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Experience with walk-behind mowers, string trimmers, and backpack blowers a plus
  • Experience operating small tractors is a plus
  • Experience with truck and trailer is a plus
  • Works well in a close-knit team environment and works well on schedule prioritizing and executing tasks.
  • Winter time snow removal work offered on the concierge crew and paid hourly at a rate higher than April through November.  Rate TBD and based on seasonal base pay.

Compensation:  Hourly; Based on experience

Plant Health Care Technician 

Summary

S & D Landscapes LLC is an innovative and strategically growing company focused on caring for clients, coworkers, and community.  Within our portfolio of services, we have a plant healthcare division that applies chemical and organic products for turf fertilization, turf weed control, plant fertilization, disease control, insect control, and invasive species control.  Here are the expectations for a Plant Health-care Technician.

Job Duties & Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift repeatedly 80 lbs
  • Must be able to earn and maintain a minimum of Vermont State Pesticide license category A, category 3B, and category 7B.
  • Must possess a valid and clean Vermont driver’s license with no DUI history.
  • Must obtain and maintain a clean DOT physical card
  • Must present oneself in a safe and respectful manner.  The public eye is on you and responsibility and respectfulness of the client, the community, your coworkers (including yourself), and the environment are paramount.
  • Must learn and exhibit competency with push broadcast spreader, high volume turf hose/sprayer, and backpack sprayer. Work will also include turf aeration and shrub and tree pruning.
  • Must maintain all daily usage and time records and submit to the office in a timely and clear manner
  • Experience operating small tractors is a plus
  • Experience with truck and trailer is a plus
  • Spreadsheet and word processing experience desired but not required.
  • Snow removal work offered through the winter months.  Candidates willing and able to work during the winter months are preferred.

Compensation:  Hourly; Based on experience
